"It wasn't me, it was the robot," David said. He was annoyed.
Dr. Glass frowned. "Now David, it's bad to lie."
"When have I ever lied?" David asked.
"Well David, there was the time where you lied about the pills. And the time you..."
David stood up and punched the wall. "This is important. I don't lie about important things."
"Now David..."
"Shut up!" David didn't realize he had been yelling until a few seconds later. He calmed down, just a bit. "Stop saying my name. I know you're talking to me. We're the only people in the room. Who else would you be talking to. I'm retarded, not stupid." He crossed his arms, looking down at Dr. Glass, as if lecturing her. "And I'm not crazy, either."
The look on Dr. Glass' face was scary, even to David. He took a step back before she spoke.
"If you keep telling people that a robot beat you up and stole your hot dog mascot outfit so it could impersonate you for 8 hours, people are going to say you're crazy. Whether you are or not."
"So now you want me to lie?"
Dr. Glass waited before she answered. "No."
"You don't believe me. Did you see the news? Charlie's got busted up. It's the robot." David was sure he had a fool-proof case, there.
"And why do you think a robot would break into a restaurant?"
David was quiet. He hadn't thought of that. Robots didn't need to eat. "Well, maybe he was built to steal meat for a scientist. Because he couldn't afford it."
"Robots are more expensive than food, David. I'm going to start you on some new pills. Take 1 with every meal, and don't lie about taking them." Dr. Glass handed him a paper, a hand-written prescription. With that, she stood up and left the room. She couldn't spend all day talking to this fool. She had other patients to see.
David stared at the subscription. More pills? He didn't like the pills he was already taking. He was sure that half of them were fake. He had seen a show on TV about fake pills. But he would get in trouble if he didn't take them.
He crushed the prescription in his hand. There was only one way he could prove to the world that he wasn't crazy, or a liar. He was going to find that robot, and he was going to kick its butt.
